Another year, another update to the almighty They Shoot Pictures, Don't They? Top 1000 Films list.

Some new films have been added to the list, and some have been taken away. Hardly any real movement, though, at the top of the heap: Citizen Kane, Vertigo, and The Rules of the Game claim the top 3 spots for the third year in a row.
It seems inevitable that throughout the year, some of the films that I've reviewed will lose their coveted spots on the list. And so with a heavy heart, we say goodbye to The Dark Knight.
We really, honestly enjoyed you, Dark Knight. Maybe not as much as all the fanboys did, but way more than we're used to liking Batman movies. Although you couldn't hang onto the buzz you generated after Heath Ledger's untimely death, you remain a beacon (a Bat Signal, if you will) for what superhero films should aspire to.
